The Golden State Warriors continue to be linked with Kevin Durant, and according to a new report, Stephen Curry is pulling out all the stops to make it happen.

Ric Bucher of FOX Sports claimed that Curry has called Durant multiple times already to recruit him back to Golden State. His reason? Apparently, the Warriors sharpshooter is determined to add more to his ring count and surpass LeBron James.

Per Bucher: A league source says Curry has reached out several times to Durant, eager to improve his chances of winning a fifth championship and surpassing LeBron James, with whom Curry is currently tied at four titles each.

Now we are not certain about the legitimacy of this rumor and rather bold claim. After all, Stephen Curry has nothing left to prove, having already won his fourth title and that elusive Finals MVP award.

Furthermore, if we're talking about legacy here and helping the Warriors in the long-run, Steph and the Dubs are actually better off not making a deal for an aging superstar and sacrificing their young players in the process. Considering that Curry has always been known as a selfless superstar who thinks about the team first, the rumor naturally sparks questions about its validity.

But hey, it's also hard to overlook it since there have been reports about the Warriors being in “discussion” about the KD trade. Brian Windhorst of ESPN said that while Curry gave a non-answer regarding his stance to trading for Durant, he also didn't reject the idea.

It will take a lot for the Warriors to get Durant from the Nets, and so it is certainly worth keeping an eye on and see whether or not Golden State makes that big swing.
