The Golden State Warriors know all too well that even a big lead in a series in the NBA Playoffs isn't entirely safe. That's why they're probably not being too complacent after escaping the Memphis Grizzlies by the skin of their teeth in Game 1 of their second round faceoff.

Still, Stephen Curry was pretty hyped when they got the win, especially after he made a crucial stop on Ja Morant. It's hard to blame the Warriors for expressing excitement (or was it relief?) after a hard-earned victory.

But while Warriors coach Steve Kerr was pleased that they drew first blood, he acknowledged how tough the Grizzlies are, citing their comeback wins over the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round, per the report of ESPN.

“The obvious thing to notice is how tough-minded they are. Two of those four (wins), maybe three of the four, they were down double figures in the fourth quarter. They are a young, up-and-coming team. Great athleticism. (Coach) Taylor (Jenkins) does an amazing job with them. They are deep. We have been through this before. You win one game, you move on to the next one.”

As some say, in basketball, it helps to have a short memory.

After a tight Game 1, Kerr is expected to address a few holes, especially after the Warriors committed 17 turnovers, which led to 24 points for the Grizzlies. Losing Draymond Green early due to ejection also didn't help.

The Warriors will gun for a 2-0 lead in Game 2 this Tuesday.
