The Golden State Warriors have truly received a major boost from Marquese Chriss this season. Apart from dazzling the Chase Arena with his gravity-defying dunks, the 22-year-old high-flyer has been a savior on the defensive side of the ball as well.

Chriss showcased his defensive wares on Saturday, engulfing Philadelphia 76ers forward Mike Scott's potential game-winner.

With less than 30 seconds left in regulation, Scott taught he had an easy deuce underneath after getting a nice dish from Tobias Haris. Chriss, however, had other plans, as he came out of nowhere and swatted the shot.

The block certainly gave the home team enough momentum to hang on to a 118-114 victory. Chriss pitched in a near triple-double of 13 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists in 33 minutes for the Warriors

Marquese Chriss did not receive much interest from NBA teams over the summer before the injury-riddled Warriors took a chance on him. He is averaging 9.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.1 blocks in 58 games this season.
