During his recent media availability, Washington Football Team quarterback Taylor Heinicke campaigned himself to have an endorsement deal with Heineken. After all, it just looks like a match made in commercial heaven.
However, Heinicke didn't make any progress with Heineken. In turn, he went at his “second” choice who were more than willing to reach an endorsement deal with him: Bud Light.

On Instagram, the Washington QB announced his official deal with Bud Light–to the laughter of some and to the disappointment of others who would have loved to have “Heinick-en.” Instead, they will have to settle for Bud Lightickie (pronounces as Bud Light-uh-KEEEE).

Big loss for Heineken, though. Taylor Heinicke would have been the perfect brand ambassador, not to mention that he actually liked and even campaigned for the partnership. In the end, Bud Light just moved faster and certainly got a touchdown with a deal with the signal-caller.
It couldn't come at a better time, too. With Ryan Fitzpatrick suffering an injury in Week 1, head coach Ron Rivera handed the keys of Washington's offense to the 28-year-old quarterback. In his first start in Week 2 against the New York Giants, Heinicke impressed and threw 34 completed passes out of 46 attempts for 336 yards and two touchdowns.
Heinicke did have one interception during Sunday's game, but he did lead Washington to a huge 30-29 win to put the team at 1-1. With Taylor gaining more popularity, Bud Light certainly did well in reaching a deal with him and capitalizing on that.
