Actor Hugh Grant was not a big fan of his role as Oompa Loompa in the new Wonka movie.

He was asked recently in a press conference with Metro.co.uk about the experience of being in the movie, Metro reports.

Hugh Grant on being ‘uncomfortable' and more in Wonka

“It was like a crown of thorns, very uncomfortable,” Grant said, regarding multiple cameras and other apparatuses that helped animate him as the character.

It was not a pleasant experience, as he describes.

“I made a big fuss about it,” he said. “I couldn't have hated the whole thing more.”

He went on to say that there was some confusion regarding whether to act or not since a lot of him was going to be animated. The answers he was given about it weren't very precise.

“Act with my body or not, and I never received a satisfactory answer,” he said. “And frankly, what I did with my body was terrible, and it's all been replaced with an animator.”

Even the final product didn't seem to make him happy. Asked whether it was all worth it, his response was, “not really.”

Even the dancing scene wasn't a good time for Grant.

“It should be fun, but that was done by the animator,” he revealed.

Maybe a new gig could suit the actor well? He isn't even a fan of acting, it seems. However, he needs the money.

“I slightly hate [making films], but I have lots of children and need money.”

Catch Hugh Grant in the role he found miserable in Wonka, which is in theaters on December 15. It also stars Timothée Chalamet, Olivia Colman, Keegan Michael-Key, and others.
