Washington Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal has never been shy about expressing frustration, and he did so on Tuesday after a lopsided loss to the Chicago Bulls.

Beal skipped his media session, an action that very well could result in a fine. When asked about the rationale behind his conspicuous absence, Beal gave a long-winded answer about not wanting to take his frustrations out on reporters. In short, he felt skipping out on media was important for clearing his head:

“There's a scripture in the bible that says, you never let your anger carry over to the next day or the next morning,” Wizards star Bradley Beal said, per Fred Katz of The Athletic.

Beal also iterated he chose to head to the film room for an extra session. His full answer is below:

The star guard's season has been a mixed bag so far. Beal is averaging 32.0 points, 4.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds through the first four games, but he is also shooting just 24 percent from beyond the arc on 6.3 attempts per game. He is also averaging 4.0 turnovers for the year, coughing up the ball five times against the Bulls.

Of course, Beal is not the reason the Wizards are 0-4 to start the season. Washington is playing faster (fourth in pace), but it has not resulted in more scoring and definitely has not led to better efficiency. The Wizards are also still struggling to find a defensive identity.

Beal wears his heart on his sleeve, but he is also a fierce competitor intent on turning the Wizards into winners. If that means missing the occasional media session to blow off steam, then so be it.
