The Washington Wizards will be without big man Moritz Wagner for three-plus weeks after he suffered an ankle injury, according to Fred Katz of The Athletic. Head coach Scott Brooks said Wagner will be in a walking boot for another week, and then need 10-14 days to recover after he's out of the boot, depending on how long it takes for his ankle to heal and lose the swelling.

Wagner has been sidelined since Dec. 10 and it looks like he won't see the court until late January at the earliest.

The Wizards are already without their starting center Thomas Bryant, who was sidelined with a foot injury since Dec. 1. He should beat Wagner back to action, as he is approaching his return. He's slated to miss another week of action before returning. He practiced last Friday and will be getting some more run with the Capital City Go-Go over the next few days.

Wagner had been a welcome presence for the Wizards, as the second-year forward was putting up 11.6 points and 6.0 rebounds while shooting 58.1% from the field and a strong 39.3% from deep.

Washington is also without Bradley Beal, but he recently practiced and could be back in action soon after missing the last two games with lower right leg soreness.
