The WNBA officially unveiled some of its new looks for the 2021 season, including the Nike “Rebel Edition” jerseys.

Players seemed to be quite enamored with the threads as they got their first glance at the new uniforms, which also include a patch commemorating the league’s 25th anniversary.

The “Rebel Edition” jerseys in particular are garnering plenty of hype.

There are two other jersey types, including the “Heroine Edition” and “Explorer Edition.”

The apparel is already selling like gangbusters. Nike’s website shows the WNBA logo T-Shirt is already sold out. It is encouraging to see just how much interest fans appear to have in the growth of the WNBA, especially in light of recent discourse.

Former WNBA player and Nike vice president of league partnerships in North America Sonja Henning said the attire is meant to reflect the cultural impact players have especially in the contemporary setting:

“Right now, we have the biggest and largest and deepest women’s organization focused on making sure we are tapping into all the opportunities for ‘her,'” Henning said, via ESPN. “No surprise that led us to the most comprehensive WNBA apparel offering Nike has ever made and probably the WNBA has ever seen. They’re going to show up with new practice gear, new travel gear and new lifestyle gear.”

The unveiling should provide quite a bit of hype and anticipation ahead of next week’s draft.
