The Michigan Wolverines lost to the Georgia Bulldogs by a score of 34-11. The game was never particularly close, as Georgia's defense created three turnovers and sacked Wolverines quarterback Cade McNamara four times. It as a disappointing end to a strong season overall. After the game, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh spoke out on the blowout loss to Georgia in the Orange Bowl.

“It was a great season,” Harbaugh said. “To me, it's one of the best seasons in Michigan football, and we were trying to make it greater tonight. It's still a beginning for this team. It's where it began last year, and it'll begin anew this year.”

While Michigan fans probably don't want to hear it after the Orange Bowl loss to Georgia, Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh is right. This was one of the best seasons in program history.

Michigan won 12 games in a season for the first time since 1997, the last time they hoisted a national championship trophy.

Not only that, but Harbaugh's Wolverines won the Big Ten title for the first time since 2004 and defeated their rival, Ohio State, for the first time in the Jim Harbaugh era.

As Harbaugh said, it was one of the best campaigns in Michigan history. And with Jim Harbaugh at the helm, the program will have an opportunity to build on it next season.
