On a show where Jordynne Grace shocked the world by entering through the Forbidden Door to become the next challenger for Roxanne Perez's NXT Women's Championship at Battleground, Shawn Michaels saved the biggest surprise of them all for last when, after securing a win in a tag team match with Je'Von Evans in the main event, Trick Williams was attacked by a debuting Ethan Page, who has seemingly become the latest AEW roster member to leave the promotion behind to become a member of NXT.

Emerging from the darkness of a quick light trick, Page began to beat down on the NXT Champion as Vance Joseph and Booker T attempted to figure out who the emerging assassin could be, with “All Ego” eventually revealing himself to the camera, announcing “Hey Trick, I took out Noam, I took out Oro! All Ego! Whoop that Trick? Oh, I'm about to!” before nailing the babyface in the face with a running knee as the show went off the air.

So what's the deal? Has this angle been built around Page for a while now? Or did he just recently sign on the dotted line with WWE, maybe after the developmental system was endorsed by fellow AEW castoff Shawn Spears, or even by Cody Rhodes, his good friend who currently has some pull as the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion and effective face of the promotion? Either way, it's borderline impossible to imagine HBK debuting Page in such a meaningful way if he didn't have a serious plan for him moving forward, so it would appear NXT is about to become a whole lot more All Ego heavy over the forthcoming weeks, and maybe even months, as after he was largely misused by AEW down the stretch, it's clear the 34-year-old will be on the lookout for a chance to seriously elevate his stock heading into the future.

Ethan Page was coy about NXT interest earlier this month on X.

After news broke that his run in AEW had come to an end, Ethan Page took to social media to talk about where he was at in the professional wrestling landscape, with the former Impact Tag Team Champion focusing far more on his Ringside Collectibles sales figures than his in-ring future.

“As you can imagine today, I've been getting a lot of messages, text messages, emails, offers… I'm trending. It seems like everybody just wants to know about my business. So, I'm here to give everyone a business update. I'm about to say a bunch of things that would probably offend a few of my peers in the industry, but, to me, the most important thing is telling the truth and being honest with my fans. So, I'm going to do just that,” Ethan Page explained to fans on social media via Cageside Seats.

“An official business update on Ethan Page, it is now two weeks in a row that I have been a top seller on Ringside Collectibles. Meaning that in the first week of releases, I outsold Chris Jericho, MJF, and Samoa Joe. And the second week, I outsold everybody in my wave, meaning Daniel Garcia, Saraya. I'm the number one seller. Not in total, but it's pretty damn good for a guy who hasn't been on television since December or featured at all.

“It's really bugging me. Why does everybody need to know all these details? I don't want to talk about this stuff. I don't want to remind my peers that I'm more popular than them or remind my peers that even though I'm not featured, I'm still beloved by the wrestling community and the fans. Nobody wants to do this. Why would you put me in this position? Anyways, now that I got that out of the way. I think the last thing that I want to say is… Pre-orders still available. Go to Ringside Collectibles dot com, and make sure Ethan Page is a top seller next week too.”

Unfortunately for Page and wrestling collectible fans alike, it would appear there will not be any more runs of his Ethan Page – AEW Unrivaled 15 figure, as WWE produces their own figures through Mattel and only give them out to NXT performers on special occasions. Still, if he figures out a way to get massively over in NXT and can ride that success to the top of the brand and beyond in an LA Knight-esque glow-up, well, it may only be a matter of time until his figure is selling out at Ringside Collectibles once more, especially if he links back up with his long-time friend Cody Rhodes as a member of his entourage once more.
