When WWE announced that Cody Rhodes would be out for roughly nine months after having surgery to repair his torn pec, it left many a fan disappointed. Rhodes' return to The Fed was incredibly well received and his match versus Seth “Freakin” Rollins at Hell in a Cell has already gone down as an all-time classic at an even known for fielding all-time classics.

And yet, not everyone is so sure that Rhodes will be out of action until the first quarter of 2023. No, in an Instagram story chronicled by Twitter user Robert DeFelice by way of Fightful, Rhodes not only showed off his scars both from his bout versus Rollins but from his torn pec in general and dropped a very interesting little quote that totally won't get blown out of proportion: The nine-month timeline for his return is WWE's prognosis, not his.

Now granted, before WWE officially put a nine-month timetable on Rhodes' injury, many assumed that he would be out for at least six months, so The Fed's prognosis, though slightly on the longer side, wasn't that far outside of the realm of possibility. Still, if Rhodes can return around Christmas time, maybe as WWE's Day 1 Pay-Per-View, it could serve as a fantastic way to kick off WrestleMania well before the event goes down in Los Angeles, California, with a long and healthy build towards “The American Nightmare's” eventual bout versus Seth Rollins, who has a pretty hefty receipt coming his way either with or without a sledgehammer.
