Samoa Joe has been taking a break from competing in pro wrestling after he was released from WWE. Since then, his future in the sport has been a bit complicated as he has been working on other projects and waiting before coming back to the sport.
Samoa Joe was recently on Busted Open Radio where he talked about his future in the sport. Things have been bittersweet for him with the release from WWE.
Article Continues Below“Since my departure from WWE, I’ve been consumed with outside work, outside of the wrestling industry. A lot of cool voice over work, been busy with that. As far as my future (in wrestling), I kind of started my road back to the ring in NXT. That road never really stopped, I just kept training. Being in the PC at the time with a lot of young talent, working with guys who are now…I want to put over some NXT talent.”
“We’re training,” the former WWE man continued. “We’re ready. I’m not on paper with anybody, anywhere, we haven’t signed anything. We’re just kind of exploring our options.”
There are plenty of options out there for Samoa Joe and he's not rushing to get back to pro wrestling. The former WWE star is a free man and he can choose to go anywhere depending on the offers he receives.
“I’m not really engaged with anybody or exploring that,” the former WWE star said. “I’ve been consumed with my other work, which has been nice, we’re now getting back to pro wrestling and seeing where we go from here.”
