When it comes to the wrestling career of Roxanne Perez, no person has done more to mentor her career than Booker T, the NXT commentator and owner of Reality of Wrestling, a combination school and promotion in Texas that helped to train “The Prodigy” on her path to international stardom.

And yet, as she's gone along her journey, other individuals have played a role in her growth too, from Mickie James to CM Punk, who has become an unofficial part of the NXT Universe and a valuable ear to plenty of stars in Orlando. Discussing her relationship with the “Best in the World,” in an interview with Adrian Hernandez, Perez put over Punk for being a valuable shoulder to lean on, as he's experienced plenty of criticism and knows the value in not taking it to heart.

“There's so many, especially when you bring up like all of those names. I do remember one of the first times that CM Punk ever got to watch me live. I had asked him if he could give me some feedback for my match and he said he would in a second. He was sitting right next to me watching another match,” Roxanne Perez explained via Fightful.

“As soon as it finished, I'm like, I'm scrolling on Twitter, and he like leans back, and he sees what I'm doing on my phone, and he goes, stop looking at that. stop looking at that. It doesn't matter what they say. It doesn't matter if they love you. It doesn't matter if they hate you. You keep on going out there and doing what you do and proving to everyone why you are in this you are in the spot that you are in. That literally was just like very eye-opening, especially coming from someone like him that has done so much in the wrestling business. Clearly he doesn't give a d**n about what anybody thinks about him. At 22 years old, it's obviously a little hard to not like, kind of social media is everything for us, right? I have him to be able to give me that advice and steer me in the right direction.”

For a 22-year-old Superstar like Perez, going on social media must be an incredibly weird experience, as hundreds of people talk about her on any given day, and it's safe to say it's far from universally positive. If Punk's wisdom has helped Perez to put that into perspective, then he truly is a valuable member of her circle.

Elsewhere on her NXT Battleground promotional tour, this time in an interview with Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture, Roxanne Perez commented on her main roster ambitions, as it's only a matter of time before she lands on either RAW or SmackDown, considering her already incredible resume.

While “The Prodigy” is excited to be a member of NXT and to wrestle Jordynne Grace in Las Vegas, she came to the WWE Universe to earn a spot on the main roster, and when that day comes, the entire women's division needs to be on notice.

“Obviously, that is the goal, of course. Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to be on the main roster and start creating a legacy for myself. Now, I've realized to take my time. I feel like I'm already creating a legacy for myself. Two-time NXT Women's Champion, and I'm in the first-ever NXT-TNA crossover match. This is awesome stuff. If I'm just scratching the surface right now, I can't imagine the things I'm going to be able to accomplish, whether that be in a few months, next year, two years. I know that once I make it up there, everyone should be worried because I'm going to takeover.”

Alright, to be fair, pretty much any member of the NXT Universe would give a pretty similar answer, as the whole point of WWE's developmental system is to eventually move forward and land on either RAW or SmackDown. Still, if anyone has pushed hard to get where they want to be and established a reputation worthy of instantly becoming a problem on the main roster, it has to be Perez, as she truly is one of the most accomplished prospects to come through the WWE Developmental system in years, maybe ever.
