Vince McMahon has announced his retirement from the WWE. Naturally, it was met with mixed reactions from fans who couldn't help but mock, get shocked or share conspiracy theories about the decision.
For those unaware, McMahon's decision came amid the misconduct investigation he's facing. He previously stepped away as the chairman and CEO of WWE after he was accused of using company money to pay off ex-employees that he allegedly had intimate relationships with. Apparently, some of those relationships were not consensual as well, according to various media outlets including the Wall Street Journal.
With that said, WWE fans took to Twitter to share their rather interesting reactions to the news. One user even tagged WSJ to release their new report on the scandal, hinting that McMahon probably chose to retire before more allegations come to light. Another one used the popular Brian Windhorst meme to try to connect the dots over the recent happenings in the promotion, including the return of Triple H.

Meanwhile, others pointed out that the announcement didn't include Vince McMahon's position as head of creatives for WWE. With that, many theorized that the 76-year-old McMahon would not totally step away even if Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan take over as co-CEOs.
Someone, however, did say that McMahon is “fully gone from WWE as an executive,” including the creative role.
EVERYONE HE IS ONLY RETIRING AS CHAIRMAN AND CEO PER THE PRESS RELEASE. THERE IS NO INDICATION HE'S STEPPING AWAY FROM ACTUAL CREATIVE. DO NOT REPORT THIS AS HIM LEAVING THE COMPANY

I can't tell if this is kayfabe or if Vince is actually retiring.
The guy did fake his death in 2007 and it was so "real" that Trump actually believed he was dead.

It remains to be seen how the WWE will proceed with the major change. Nonetheless, there is no doubt all eyes will be on Stephanie and Nick in the months to come as they go through the controversial period and transition.
