The Jacksonville Jaguars are a team on the rise in the NFL. All-Pro corner Jalen Ramsey and company are expected to be a serious force to be reckoned with once again in the AFC during the 2018 campaign with the team's defensive star already circling the Week 1 matchup with the New York Giants.

Although the Giants are coming off a disappointing three-win season, the storied NFL franchise may have made the right moves to get right back on track next season. One major step forward for New York is the return of a healthy Odell Beckham Jr. who was marred by injuries last year. Ramsey prides himself on head-to-head matchups with the league's best players and is looking forward to his showdown with Beckham come Week 1, via Austin Knoblauch of NFL.com.

“Let's get this out the way right now. [Odell Beckham] is a good receiver,” Ramsey told reporters Tuesday after reporting to camp. “We all know that. But you all know me at the same time. Yeah, he's good, but I'm good, too. If you want to say he's the best at his position, I'm the best at my position, so we are going to go at it. We are going to give the people a show the first game of the season.”

There's no question that both of these players are among the NFL's elite at corner and wideout. This will almost certainly be one of the premier matchups in the first week of the 2018 campaign and he is already doing a great job of selling it to the fans.

“That is what you all asked for as fans of the game, as [fans of] the NFL, everybody. That is what you all asked for. We are going to give it to you, for sure. I know I am.”

In 2018, Beckham will be looking to bounce back quickly from a season in which he only played four games starting in only two of those games. Ramsey, however, will have Super Bowl aspirations as he leads arguably one of the best defenses in the league which made it to the AFC Championship Game last year.

The Giants and Jaguars will square off in their season opener on Sept. 9 at MetLife Stadium.
