You've got to admire the Detriot Lions. For such a hopeless-looking franchise, this organization always manages to  consistently show its stars the respect that they deserve, which bodes well for estranged star Kenny Golladay.

Matt Stafford, you want out? Okay, yeah we'll hook you up with as good a location as we can get you. Calvin Johnson wants an early retirement? Sure we get it. We have the ability to tag Kenny Golladay and attempt to swim back to mediocrity? No, let him go free. If not with us, he at least deserves to get paid.

As for Golladay, the man of the hour: yes, he is already catching the injury bug. Yes, it is possible that his stats were a little bit goosed as the only truly viable deep threat for Stafford week in, week out. But he's still young. He's still dynamic. And he can still push a team over the top. Let's see who could use his considerable talents best:

3. New York Giants

Joe Judge, Daniel Jones, Giants

What an enigma the New York Football Giants have been over the past few years. What a strange, dark rollercoaster this franchise has been on since David Gettleman was brought onboard as GM. Three coaches in almost as many years, the freakiest low-stakes quarterback carousel in recent memory, strange free agent signings on offense…

And yet.

Daniel Jones is improving as a passer and decision-maker, with no offensive line to speak of. He's also quietly been one of the very best rushing quarterbacks in the NFL, despite looking most days like an actual statue.

The front office hit on almost every front when they shored up the defense last offseason and were able to bring back DT lynchpin Leonard Williams (11.5 sacks in 2020-21). James Bradberry continues to be a stud, Logan Ryan is developing.

Everything is pointing to a resurgent football team in the Meadowlands next season.

All they are missing now are weapons for Danny Dimes to throw to. Saquon Barkley is back and is reportedly back 100%, which is good. Darius Slayton and Sterling Shepard are fine secondary talents in and outside of the slot. But Evan Engram and his stone hands have underperformed, and it is seeming more and more unlikely that one of the draft's most coveted receivers will fall to the Giants at the eleventh pick.

Gettleman has shown an aversion to making super splashy signings. It's time to change that notion.

2. Indianapolis Colts

Carson Wentz, Colts trade

If this happens, the Indianapolis Colts immediately become the favorites to challenge Kansas City for next year's AFC crown.

They've already replaced the geriatric Philip Rivers with the raw talent of Carson Wentz, who is only a few years removed from legitimate MVP candidacy, and is reuniting with Frank Reich, the man who coached him to that position in the first place.

Their running game is rock solid going into next season, especially if Jonathan Taylor is able to build upon the huge strides he made in the second half of his rookie year. Michael Pittman, Jr. and Parris Campbell are talented enough to draw defenses away from Golladay without threatening touches if he's healthy.

DeForest Buckner helms one of the stingiest run defenses in the NFL, and Quenton Nelson is already in the conversation for the best offensive lineman in the league.

If Kenny Golladay wants to go to a winner, he'll find it in Indianapolis. Moreover, with the team so far under the cap given its gift for spotting and developing talent, this winner can pay for Golladay's services.

1. Jacksonville Jaguars

Big brain thoughts only.

Sure, the Jaguars have done nothing of note. Sure, their coaching staff is nothing to write home about, at least in recent memory. Sure, they have a reputation for mediocrity.

But, then again, so did Buffalo. At least, before they got the quarterback right.

College football genius (and the scariest resting face in football) Urban Meyer is now helming the ship in Jacksonville, with all the savvy and fear he brings with him.

The Jaguars feature intriguing options on offense, to say the least, in DJ Chark and Keelan Cole, and have found a diamond in the rough with rookie running back James Robinson. Add in the wild amount of cap space that they are currently working with, and Golladay comes in as the immediate number one talent on an already talented skill player core.

But most importantly, Jacksonville has a chance to grab the best quarterback prospect since Andrew Luck in this year's draft with the biggest ‘no duh' number one pick in recent memory.

Trevor Lawrence, eased into the league by a coach who knows his talents inside and out, with a solid receiving core and running game, further infused with Kenny Golladay, and solid talent in Cam Robinson leading the offensive line in a ‘prove it' year?

Throw in a bunch of Florida sunshine and no state tax, and you have a no-brainer destination for Kenny Golladay.
