This time of the offseason is a prime time for NFL teams to negotiate extensions with their current players. According to The Athletic's Matt Barrows, the San Francisco 49ers are discussing extensions for Raheem Mostert and Kendrick Bourne.

Back in April, Bourne signed his restricted free agent tender with the 49ers. While that keeps him in San Francisco for another season, he'll become an unrestricted free agent in 2021.

Given that, the 49ers are attempting to make sure that Bourne is on the roster beyond 2020. In the past two seasons, Bourne has combined for 72 receptions for 845 yards and nine touchdowns.

Even though he isn't the team's No. 1 or even No. 2 wide receiver, Bourne has proven to be a nice complementary piece in the offense. He also believes the addition of rookie Brandon Aiyuk can put San Francisco's offense over the top next season.

On the other hand, Mostert emerged as one of San Francisco's featured running backs last season. The undrafted running back out of Purdue rushed for a career-high 772 yards and eight touchdowns in 2019.

But unlike Bourne, Mostert is under contract with the 49ers for the next three years. However, while answering questions from fans, Barrows points out that San Francisco could give Mostert a raise in the near future.

Besides Bourne and Mostert, Daniel Brunskill could also be seeking an extension from the 49ers. Although, Brunskill will be an exclusive rights free agent next offseason, essentially keeping him with the team through the 2021 season.

Kyle Shanahan has finally found an offensive group that can execute his offense to near perfection. Therefore, the 49ers are going to do everything they can to make sure their roster remains intact moving forward.
