The Chicago Bears won their fifth game of the season on Sunday, as they defeated the Carolina Panthers 23-16. It wasn't the most impressive performance from the Bears, though, but for his part, coach Matt Nagy is more than happy to take the scrappy win.

In his post-game interview, Nagy admitted that his team is still a work in progress, but the 42-year-old also shared how he is confident that this is only the beginning for Chicago:

“We’re 5-1 right now and we’re not playing well offensively,” Nagy said, via Josh Alper of NBC Sports. “So when we do get this thing up and running, which we will, it’s going to be fun. It’s going to be a lot of fun. And, so, that’s the goal. We understand where our warts are on offense, we get that and we’re going to keep working on it. We’re going to continue to stay positive as we do this because of where we know we’re at and where we’re going.”

The Bears' offense has left quite a lot to be desired so far this season, and the fact that they've won five out of their first six games in the new campaign speaks volumes of how resilient they've been early on. Their defense also deserves a ton of credit, of course.

As Nagy expressed above, he fully expects his offense to get going sooner rather than later, and it's exciting to imagine how dominant the Bears will be once everything starts falling into place.

Chicago will be back in action on on Monday against the Los Angeles Rams, as they hope to improve their record to 6-1.
