The Chicago Bears have made their first move in replacing former head coach Matt Nagy and ex-general manager Ryan Pace.

As ESPN reported, the team has now interviewed former Super Bowl-winning coach Doug Pederson for their vacant head coaching job. Meanwhile, they have talked to Cleveland Browns exec Glenn Cook for their GM spot.

It is worth nothing, however, that Pederson has a close relationship with Nagy since they worked together under Andy Reid with the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs.

Doug Pederson seems to be the ideal candidate for the Bears, though, with his experience in leading the Eagles to the Super Bowl during the 2017 season the main highlight of his coaching career. That might be what Chicago needs to turn around the franchise that has been inconsistent and hasn't seen much success over the years.

As reported earlier, the Bears are not the only ones interested in hiring Pederson. According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, they are facing competition from the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are looking for a permanent replacement for Urban Meyer.

It remains to be seen what the Bears will do for their head coaching and GM vacancies, especially with a slew of other teams firing their own head coaches and execs in a bid to reform their organizations.

However, the Bears certainly cannot fumble their coaching hire since it will dictate the direction they are going, at least for the next couple of years.
