It's been a long and miserable season for the Chicago Bears. Although they have some exciting pieces on the roster, this franchise was unable to get going throughout the year. Now, Chicago moves into a new era after making a final decision on Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace.

According to Ian Rapoport, the Bears have officially fired Matt Nagy. Considering how bad this team was this year, Chicago has very likely made the right decision. Now, the franchise searches for someone who can take Justin Fields' development to the next level.

The Bears made additional news on Monday, as they've also fired general manager Ryan Pace, per Tom Pelissero. Chicago has decided to make massive changes to the coaching staff and front office as the franchise aims to make big improvements.

Firing Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace is the first step for the Bears to get back on track. Chicago has been a mediocre team through the years and it's time they become a legitimate playoff contender. Chicago will draw some interest, as the roster has plenty of young talent to excite any incoming candidates.

The Bears' offense has some serious talent, as Justin Fields showed improvement as the season went on. Additionally, David Montgomery and Khalil Herbert look to be a dangerous duo out of the backfield and Darnell Mooney proved to be a reliable pass option. Simultaneously, the defense has some thrilling players and just needs a few more key additions to become a threat once again.

Look for the Bears to be incredibly active in the offseason as the franchise aims to shape a more successful future.
