The Russell Wilson saga with the Seattle Seahawks continues. Just days after Seattle said they were open for calls on their star quarterback, the Chicago Bears have now made their stance clear on Wilson's current situation.
According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, multiple sources say the Bears have made Wilson a top priority at QB this offseason. His agent already voiced that Chicago was one of four teams to who Wilson would accept a trade to as well, which certainly helps the Bears' in their pursuit.
Mitch Trubisky has disappointed after being selected second overall in the 2017 draft and it seems unlikely that he'll return to the Bears, although it hasn't been ruled out. Nick Foles is certainly in the conversation for the QB1 job in 2021, although Chicago does seem focused on a big move.
Free agents Ryan Fitzpatrick and Jameis Winston have both been on their radar, while the organization has also considered drafting a quarterback.
Article Continues BelowAcquiring Wilson would be a massive move for the Bears, but it won't be easy. He's currently a franchise piece in Seattle and although he's been unhappy with the lack of coverage, it would take a lot for the Seahawks to trade their star.
General Manager Ryan Pace and head coach Matt Nagy know their jobs are on the line next season, so a change needs to be made after finishing with an 8-8 record in 2020.
