Star Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green managed to avoid a suspension for his actions on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but he was still slapped with a major fine.

Per Josh Alper of ProFootballTalk.com, Green received a $42,000 fine for getting into a fight with Jags cornerback Jalen Ramsey. As Alper notes, the NFL's minimum fine for a first fighting offense is $30,387.

Green and Ramsey were both ejected from Sunday's 23-7 victory for Jacksonville. Green grew tired of Ramsey's trash talk throughout the game, choosing to grab Ramsey from behind around his neck before pulling him to the ground and throwing punches.

After the game, Green said he wouldn't fight any repercussions that came his way, and sure enough, he won't appeal this $42K fine. The six-time Pro Bowler admitted that Ramsey's words ticked him off, but he said he should've taken the high road rather than giving in to his frustration.

Ramsey, who has quickly become one of the best shutdown cornerbacks in the game in his second season, told reporters Wednesday that he “told Green he was soft and weak. Which is true. I was out there spitting facts.”
