The Cincinnati Bengals are preparing to take on the Kansas City Chiefs fresh off of a divisional win against the Baltimore Ravens. Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow threw for over 500 yards and four touchdowns in the win over Baltimore, as the second-year pro put on one of the best performances in NFL history. Burrow is looking at the upcoming matchup against Patrick Mahomes and the red-hot Chiefs from an interesting perspective.
“We’re playing a really good team that’s been in the Super Bowl the last two years, so it’s a big opportunity in that sense. . . . They’ve been one of the best offenses in the league since he has been the starting quarterback,” Burrow said, via Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Enquirer. “We’re going in expecting to have to score a lot of points and we’ll adapt accordingly.”
Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is going into the game knowing that his team may need a similar performance to his effort against the Ravens in order to beat Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.
Not only that, but Burrow acknowledges what a win against Mahomes and the Chiefs, who have been to the Super Bowl two years in a row, would do for the Bengals' confidence.
It's interesting to hear Burrow basically acknowledge the fact that the Chiefs offense, which has put up 34-plus points in each of their last three games, is going to put up points no matter what.
Such is the nature of going up against a juggernaut like Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Fortunately for the Bengals, their chances of winning are pretty good with Joe Burrow playing the way he is right now.
Expect a high-scoring affair between the Bengals and Chiefs on Sunday.
