LSU Tigers star quarterback and reigning Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow, the presumptive No. 1 pick at the 2020 NFL Draft in April, cast doubts about his compatibility with the Cincinnati Bengals in recent months. However, now the 23-year-old FBS national champion is again playing coy on whether he wants the Bengals to select him.

Via Mac Engel in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram:

“Look, this is a long process, right?” he said. “They have their process that they have to go through, and so I am blessed to be in the position I’m in. If they select me, they select me, I’m going to do everything in my power to be the best football player I can be.”

“It’s a long process in the next couple of months,” said Joe Burrow, who added that he plans to attend the NFL Combine later this month but is unsure as to specifically what he will do there. We have the Combine. We have pro days,” he said. “There is a long time ‘til the draft. There is a lot of information in a lot of different places. A lot of people saying a lot of things. I’m just focused on training right now.”

It's possible that the former Ohio high school student doesn't want to play in Cincinnati, however, in all likelihood Joe Burrow continues to diminish attention linking him to the Bengals to limit direct tampering between himself and the NFL franchise before he is officially a pro.

Joe Burrow will very likely be a member of the Bengals come April 2020 as the first overall pick of the 2020 draft.
