It is game three of three in this interleague series as the St. Louis Cardinals visit the Houston Astros. It is time to continue our MLB odds series with a Cardinals-Astros prediction and pick.

In game one of the series, the Cardinals started strong. Alec Burelson and Nolan Gorman both hit home runs to make it 2-0. Nolan Arenado added an RBI single in the third to make it 3-0 before Yordan Alvarez hit a home run in the bottom of the inning to make it 3-2. Gorman would have his second of the game with a homer in the fifth, but from there, the Astros took off. They scored four in the eighth, started by an Alex Bregman home run to take the 7-4 lead, the score they would win by.

Game two of the series will be on Tuesday night. Andre Pallante will be on the mound for the Cardinals. He is 1-1 with a 3.94 ERA. Spencer Arrighetti will be on the mound for the Astros. He is 3-5 with a 5.98 ERA.

Why The Cardinals Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Cardinals are 28th in the majors in runs scored while sitting 22nd in batting average, 2oth in on-base percentage, and 22nd in slugging percentage. Nolan Gorman has been great this year. He is hitting .230 on the year with a .318 on-base percentage. Forman has eight doubles and 13 home runs, good for 30 RBIs. He has also scored 27 runs this year.  Nolan Arenado has also been an offensive force this year.  He is hitting .257 on the year with a .310 on-base percentage. He has ten doubles and five home runs. This has led to 27 RBIs. Further, he has scored 22 times this year.

Brendan Donovan has also been solid. He is hitting .242 on the year with 14 doubles and four home runs, leading to 25 RBIs. He has also scored 26 times this year. Paul Goldschmidt leads the team in runs scored this year. Goldschmidt is hitting .222 with a .301 on-base percentage. He has nine doubles and seven home runs. This has led to 22 RBIs and 26 runs scored.  Meanwhile, Masyn Winn has hit very well this year. He is hitting .297 on the year with a .353 on-base percentage. Final Cardinals-Astros Prediction & Pick

The Cardinals do not have a great offense, and further, they are now facing a solid pitcher in Ronel Blanco. Blanco has been great this year, giving up over three runs just once. Meanwhile, Miles Mikolas has not been great this year. The Astros will be able to hit well against him and take the win in this one.
