The Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars will square off in an AFC South matchup on Sunday. It's time to continue our NFL odds series and make a Titans-Jaguars prediction and pick.
The Titans dropped an ugly game Sunday on the road vs. the New York Jets, falling to 2-2 on the season. The Jaguars sit at 0-4 coming off a loss last Thursday night to the Cincinnati Bengals, but they did play better than they had in previous weeks, possessing a legitimate chance to win the game late in the fourth quarter. Trevor Lawrence will try again for his first career win in the NFL as the Titans look to move on from the bad loss to the Jets.
Here's how the bookmakers have set the Titans-Jaguars odds for this Sunday matchup.
NFL Odds: Titans-Jaguars Odds
Tennessee Titans -4.5 (-112)
Jacksonville Jaguars +4.5 (-108)
Over 48.5 points (-115)
Under 48.5 points (-105)

Why The Titans Can Cover The Spread
Julio Jones and A.J. Brown, Tennessee's top two WRs, are both questionable heading into the weekend. Whether or not one or both of them can go will obviously be a big factor for the outcome of the game. Without their top two wide receivers last week, the Titans struggled a bit to generate big plays and wound up losing a tight game with the Jets. They can still cover the spread vs. Jacksonville without those guys, but they will need their defense a bit more if the offense is again held back by being without two of its top playmakers. If Jones and Brown are unable to go, the line will move towards the Jaguars.
Article Continues BelowDerrick Henry obviously still has the ability to dominate a game vs. a bad team like Jacksonville. The Jaguars have had one of the worst defenses in the NFL so far in 2021, though they did look a little bit better last week vs. the Bengals. If the Titans lean on Henry and don't turn the ball over, they should definitely be able to cover this spread.
Why The Jaguars Can Cover The Spread
The Jaguars are due for a break. They have had leads in their last two games, only to see things go south and let those leads slip away. Two weeks ago, they led the Arizona Cardinals 19-10 in the second half, but lost 31-19. Last Thursday, they got out to a 14-0 start vs. the Bengals but were unable to hold on for the win.
James Robinson is back to form as Urban Meyer has seemingly realized his rookie season wasn't a fluke, as the second-year undrafted back rushed for two touchdowns last week. The Jaguars might find themselves in a shootout vs. a powerful Titans offensive attack, so Lawrence will need to limit his mistakes and be efficient with the opportunities he gets. Tennessee will be on a mission to avenge their loss to the Jets so the Jaguars will need to bring their ‘A' game if they want to keep it close come Sunday.
The Jaguars defense will need to bring a little more to the table against the Titans offense, as the points could rack up in bunches for Tennessee if Jacksonville is unable to stop the run.
Final Titans-Jaguars Prediction & Pick
The Titans offense is difficult to fade here. 4.5 points isn't quite enough to feel comfortable about Jacksonville just yet. They looked better last week, but stopping Henry is a different challenge. Look for the Titans to unlock their play action passing after a big dose of Henry, putting up lots of points in the process.
FINAL TITANS-JAGUARS PREDICTION & PICK: Titans -4.5 (-112)
