It was a good night for the Los Angeles Chargers, as they scored a 34-28 victory over a hapless New York Jets side. As it turns out, it was a much better evening for one particular bettor who pocketed over $200,000 in winnings after hitting a seven-leg parlay on Sunday night.

David Purdum of ESPN provides the details of the huge win:

A bettor with William Hill U.S. hit a $206,100 seven-leg money-line parlay that paid a net $253,900 when the heavily favored Chargers finished the Jets. The other six legs were Florida over Vanderbilt, Ohio State over Indiana, Louisville over Syracuse, Texas-San Antonio over Southern Miss, Michigan over Rutgers and Steelers over Jaguars.

As the excerpt above described, the odds were clearly stacked against this bettor. However, the gambling gods were smiling on him on Sunday, and despite the extremely small percentage of him actually winning his seven-leg parlay bet, he actually succeeded in doing so. Needless to say, this is one of those meant-to-be moments.

The Chargers were the heavy favorites to defeat the Jets in this one, and as expected, L.A. delivered. This was thanks in large part to another tremendous performance by Chargers rookie quarterback Justin Herbert.

The 22-year-old QB completed 37-of-49 passes against the Jets for a career-best 366 yards, while also scoring three touchdowns. Herbert actually already logged a very impressive 277 yards in the first half in what was a solid performance that further solidified his resume for the Offensive Rookie of the Year honors.
