While Taylor Swift and Beyoncé have recently been playing greatest hits shows, Billie Eilish will not be doing that with her upcoming “Hit Me Hard and Soft” tour, which will commence in September 2024.

During a live session on Stationhead (via @swifterupdates on X), Eilish answered fan questions. One fan asked if she would perform a three-hour show a la Swift and Beyoncé. She quickly shot that idea down, calling the concept “literally psychotic.”

“I'm not doing a three-hour show, that's literally psychotic,” she said. “Nobody wants that. You guys don't want that. I don't want that. I don't even want that as a fan.

“Even my favorite artist in the world, I'm not trying to hear them for three hours. That's far too long,” she continued with a laugh.

It's unclear if Eilish was throwing shade at Taylor Swift and Beyoncé. In the past, she did give them props for playing stadiums on their “Eras” and “Renaissance” tours, respectively. They aren't the only ones to play long shows, though. Speaking from personal experience, Paul McCartney puts on a near-three-hour show. Bruce Springsteen is also known for his lengthy performances.

On September 29, 2024, Eilish will commence her latest concert tour, the “Hit Me Hard and Soft” tour with a show in Quebec City. The tour is in support of Eilish's latest studio album. 81 dates are planned for the tour.

She will first play shows across North America before heading to Australia and Europe in 2025. As of the time of this writing, Eilish is set to conclude the tour with two shows in Dublin, Ireland, on July 26 and 27.

The “Hit Me Hard and Soft” tour is Eilish's seventh headlining tour. Even before Eilish released her first studio album, she embarked on three solo tours.

While it is unknown what songs Eilish will play during her upcoming tour, fans can rest easy knowing the show won't exceed three hours long.

Who is Billie Eilish?

Billie Eilish first gained notoriety for her debut single, “Ocean Eyes.” The song was written and produced by her brother, Finneas OConnell, who has remained her frequent collaborator. In 2017, Eilish released her debut EP, Don't Smile at Me.

Her debut studio album came in 2019 when she released When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? In 2021, Eilish released her second album, Happier Than Ever. Finally, in 2024, Eilish released her third album, Hit Me Hard and Soft.

At the Grammys, Eilish has already garnered 25 nominations. She has won nine awards thus far. Her most recent wins came at the sixty-sixth ceremony when Eilish won Song of the Year and Best Song Written for Visual Media (both for “What Was I Made For?” from Barbie). The song was also up for Record of the Year, Best Music Video, and Best Pop Solo Performance.

Additionally, Eilish has already won two Oscars at just 22 years old. She first won Best Original Song for “No Time to Die” for the James Bond film of the same name. Not long after, Eilish took home the same prize for “What Was I Made For?”, the lone Oscar win for Barbie.
