Free-agent cornerback Kevin Johnson is visiting with the Buffalo Bills on Wednesday, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.

Johnson was released by the Houston Texans earlier this week.

This past season, the 26-year-old played in just one game after suffering a concussion and being placed on the injured reserve list following the Bills' Week 1 matchup against the New England Patriots.

Johnson, who played his collegiate football at Wake Forest University, was originally selected by the Texans in the first round (16th pick overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.

He played in all 16 games during his rookie campaign and made 10 starts, finishing with 52 tackles, an interception, and nine passes defended. The following year, he appeared in just six contests due to a broken foot, totaling 21 tackles and a fumble recovery.

Then, in 2017, Johnson once again dealt with injury issues, as he missed four games as a result of a sprained MCL. He went on to register 45 stops on the year.

Due to his inability to stay healthy and his shaky play when he was actually on the field, Houston decided to give up on the defensive back.

However, given that he is a first-round talent, some team will almost surely take a chance on him, and the Bills are the first club in line in attempting to do so.

Buffalo is coming off of a season in which it won just six games one year after it made its first playoff appearance since the 1999-00 campaign, ending the longest postseason drought in the NFL.
