Jake Paul is preparing for an exhibition bout with former ONE Championship and UFC star Ben Askren this weekend.

The YouTuber and amateur boxer sees an even bigger fight in his future.

Paul told reporters Thursday he believes he is on a collision course with former UFC two-division champion and UFC superstar Conor McGregor:

“I think we both are on a road to each other,” Paul said, via The Score. “He wants another boxing fight. He wants to fight Manny Pacquiao. He would get toasted. He just keeps on taking Ls. I think fighting Jake Paul would probably be easier than fighting Manny Pacquiao, and it would be just as big.”

Paul added he thinks it's possible such a fight develops within the next two years if all goes according to plan:

“I think we're a lot closer to a Jake Paul-Conor McGregor fight than anyone thinks,” Paul said, via The Score. “I think it could happen in the next 24 months.”

Perhaps a Paul-McGregor bout will develop at some point in time. For now, both men are focused on the task at hand.

McGregor will begin preparations for his trilogy with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in Las Vegas. He lost the rematch in January via knockout.

Meanwhile, Paul will be looking to improve his boxing record to 3-0 following his knockout victory over former NBA star Nate Robinson in November. He faces a tough challenge in Askren who, despite not being known as a striker, has a long track record in professional fighting.
