The name of Oakland Raiders star Khalil Mack has been brought up a lot in comparison with Denver Broncos rookie Bradley Chubb. Chubb himself made the bold statement that he was a combination of Mack and new teammate Von Miller. That comparison was eventually co-signed by Miller himself.
And now, another Broncos teammate in cornerback Chris Harris has signed off on the Mack side of the equation with Chubb.
“Oh, man, he has all the tools,” Harris said on Sirius XM NFL Radio with Alex Marvez and Gil Brandt. “He kind of looks like a young Khalil Mack. Big, he’s around 280, around there. He can move, so I see him being all over the field. I think he’ll start. He’s been able to be that big of an impact player in OTAs, so I think he’ll start next year across from Von, for sure.”
It’s obviously tremendously high praise for anyone to be compared to Mack, who has been a stud ever since coming into the league. That lofty comparison will bring equally high expectations, but it looks as if Chubb is capable of rising up to the challenge.
As for Chubb starting next season, it’s certainly a real possibility. Even though the Broncos have a more established player in Shaquil Barrett, Chubb is without question the higher upside option and might even better than Barrett right now. If he can continue the impact he showed during OTAs in training camp, it will be hard to deny the young Khalil Mack his spot in the starting lineup.
