The Denver Broncos had high hopes heading into the 2022 season with Russell Wilson coming over from the Seattle Seahawks, but it ended up being an extremely underwhelming season for Wilson and the Broncos. Last season, Wilson was 292-483 through the air for a completion percentage of 60.5%, the worst of his career. He finished with 3,524 passing yards, 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Now, the Broncos are getting ready for their 2023 opener on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders. If the Broncos are going to have a better season this year, Wilson will need to be better, and potentially having one of his top wide receivers out in week one isn't a good sign.
Jerry Jeudy is currently battling a hamstring injury and is questionable for Sunday's game against the Raiders. However, Broncos head coach Sean Payton seems optimistic about Jeudy returning soon and potentially playing on Sunday.
“He's doing well.” Payton said according to a tweet from Mike Klis.
Another good sign for Jeudy and the Broncos is that he practiced all three days this week. He is still working through things, but being able to get out on the practice field and work on his craft is huge.
Last season for the Broncos, Jeudy had 67 receptions for 972 yards and six touchdowns. Last season was his best season in terms of receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns. He is going to be a major piece to the puzzle this season for Denver, and getting him back to full health will be crucial for the Broncos to be successful. We'll see if he ends up getting cleared for Sunday's opener.
