After spending his entire professional career with the Dallas Cowboys, Randy Gregory is headed to the Denver Broncos. He rejected a three-year, $30 million deal with his former team for the exact same deal in Denver. However, money wasn't the only thing that played a factor in Gregory's decision.

According to the defensive end, Russell Wilson was a big part of the Broncos' recruiting process.

Broncos beat reporter tweeted the eye-opening quote Saturday morning.

Gregory said that Wilson is the kind and caring man that everyone thinks he is. He recalled multiple times when the new Broncos' quarterback contacted him through texts and Facetime calls. Wilson even called him after he and his wife visited the Children's Hospital in Colorado.

“There's a certain image he has out in the public and it was funny, I was telling my parents, I was telling my wife, I was like, ‘he's literally what he is out in the public. He's coming from a Children's Hospital, taking the time to call a guy that he's trying to bring to the team,'” Gregory said.

The defensive end credited Wilson and the Broncos staff for aiding in his transition from Dallas to Denver. Gregory said that in the process, he talked to Wilson about things like real estate and areas to live in a city very new to both of them.
