This is probably not the way Joe Flacco imagined his career panning out with the Denver Broncos, but it just works that way sometimes. The former Baltimore Raven will most likely be traded or released before the week is over.
9News' Mike Klis gave an update on Flacco's short-but-soon-to-be-over career at the Empower Field at the Mile High. Based on his reports and other updates surrounding the 35-year-old quarterback's future, it's all but certain he's on his way out.

While Flacco was less than inspiring in the pocket, it's not like he performed terribly for the Broncos. He wasn't able to play his best football, but his 1,822 passing yards and six passing TDs weren't the worst in the NFL. He would have made it to 3,000 passing yards if he somehow kept himself healthy throughout the campaign.

The team had to eventually let Drew Lock wet his feet in the latter stages of the season, and he showed encouraging signs. He finished his five starts with a respectable 1,020 yards, seven touchdowns, and three interceptions. It set them on committing to Lock and letting Flacco walk.
The question now lies with his possible destination. One possible destination would be the Los Angeles Chargers. They aren't the most popular spot in the NFL, and he could cut himself a niche there with the team needing a new starting quarterback after Philip Rivers signed with the Indianapolis Colts in free agency. Another team that could use a quality quarterback would be the Chicago Bears. Mitchell Trubisky just hasn't been consistent, and he could be a great replacement.
Whether he gets traded or cut loose, Flacco's next team may pretty much be his last if he doesn't step up.
