Denver Broncos quarterback Brett Rypien just threw a bullet to Tim Patrick for a touchdown.

On Thursday Night Football, Rypien threw a seven-yard pass to Patrick to extend the Broncos' lead to 24-16.

Rypien took a quick two-step drop before firing it through a couple of defenders  to Patrick in the back of the end zone. The Broncos had gained an eight-point lead.

The Broncos fell behind to the New York Jets in the first quarter but have since controlled the game, scoring 14 points in the second quarter while limiting the Jets to field goals. This is Rypien's first start in the NFL. He was signed as an undrafted free agent last season. He is starting following Drew Lock's injury in Week 2 and Jeff Driskel struggled in Week 3 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While it's not exactly a good test with the Jets being the opponent, Rypien looks to be a better option than Driskel moving forward.

UPDATE: The Jets picked off Brett Rypien twice since this touchdown pass was thrown. New York reduced its deficit to two points, with the Broncos leading 27-25 midway through the fourth quarter. The Jets were driving with a chance to take the lead on a field goal.
