Rookie quarterback Josh Rosen made headlines shortly after getting drafted No. 10 overall by the Arizona Cardinals. Rosen declared that there were nine “mistakes” made ahead of him in the draft. Although, he later changed it to just three mistakes, which referred to the number of quarterbacks taken ahead of him.

One of those quarterbacks was Baker Mayfield, who went No. 1 overall to the Cleveland Browns. Mayfield was asked about Rosen’s remarks, and he couldn’t help but take a subtle dig at his fellow rookie.

“To each their own,” Mayfield said per Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com. “The fact that he can say there's nine mistakes ahead of him, how's he going to compare himself to a running back and linemen and defensive players that were picked in front of him? There's no comparison. I think everybody ended up where they're supposed to be. I mean, I get it. I get the competitive nature, but you don't want to be scripted like that.”

It’s funny to hear Mayfield take a shot at Rosen’s comments since it’s so easy to imagine him saying the exact same thing if he were the quarterback who slid all the way down to 10th. Like Rosen, Mayfield is a similarly outspoken, overly competitive type who would take getting passed over so many times personally. But since Mayfield went first, he obviously thinks the draft played out exactly how it should’ve.

However, Rosen could still end up getting the last laugh over his draft mate taken nine spots higher. While Rosen could have a legitimate shot at starting for the Cardinals this season, Mayfield will likely have to redshirt for a year before getting his chance to start for Cleveland. Maybe then, Rosen would realize that dropping to 10 might end up being a good thing for him and his career.
