Ohio State Buckeyes linebacker K'Vaughan Pope was escorted off the field Saturday after blowing up on the sideline. Pope then took to Twitter while the game was going on and tweeted “f*** Ohio State,” only to delete that and tweet “good lucc to my teammates” after that, per ESPN's Tom VanHaaren.

Pope's outburst happened in the second quarter of a 59-7 demolition of Akron. The senior linebacker tried to enter the game but was waved off by teammate Teradja Mitchell. Pope then headed to the locker room before being walked back by an Ohio State staffer.

That's when he lost it:

According to the report, Pope then threw his gloves into the stands and attempted to take his jersey off on the sideline. A few Ohio State coaches had conversations with him before he was escorted by a staffer into the locker room.

Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day wouldn't say whether or not Pope would remain with the team. Day also said he saw the tweets after the game but didn't want to comment until learning more.

Pope has played in 33 games in his college career, but he has never had a big role with Ohio State. Perhaps this blowup stemmed from frustration about playing time. We'll surely find out more in the near future.

As for the Buckeyes as a team, they're now 3-1 on the season after the easy win over Akron. Ohio State is currently ranked No. 10 in the country. The one loss came against an impressive Oregon Ducks squad that came into Ohio Stadium and destroyed the Buckeyes' defense.

Ohio State starting quarterback C.J. Stroud didn't play against Akron due to a shoulder injury. Kyle McCord got the majority of the reps at quarterback and threw for 319 yards in the dominant victory on Saturday.
