Despite the disappointing loss from the Milwaukee Bucks to the Houston Rockets, superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo made history Saturday night with his eye-opening performance. He scored a whopping 48 points and collected 17 rebounds in the outing that compares to the likes of a Bucks legend in Kareem-Abdul Jabbar according to StatMuse.

With the stat-line against the Rockets, Antetokounmpo tied Jabbar for the most games with 45 or more points as a Buck. They both have 18 games where they achieved that number of points. Jabbar did get 45 or more points in 20 games, but his two final contests were with the Los Angeles Lakers which were in 1975 and 1986.

Antetokounmpo also achieved another mark with his insane performance Saturday night against Houston that ended up being record-breaking. The outing from the two-time MVP makes it 26 games where he has 40 or more points, 10 or more rebounds, and 70 or more in his true shooting percentage according to StatMamba.

Despite offensive fireworks, Antetokounmpo frustrated at team's defense

While those are outstanding marks, it is not expected for Antetokounnmpo to feel positive after the loss to the Rockets. Funny enough, he believes the Bucks were relying too much on offense rather than defense.

“Offense is gonna be there some nights, and, some nights, it’s not going to be there,” Antetokounmpo said to The Athletic. “Your defensive effort, though, has got to be there. And defensively, our effort was not there. There was no pride. Guys were just driving the ball, straight-line drive, getting to the paint, over-helping, shooting 3s, offensive rebounds. There was nothing. This was not the Milwaukee Bucks. This is not who we are.”

Despite the loss, the Bucks are still 25-11 which puts them second in the Eastern Conference, three games behind the top seed in the Boston Celtics. They will look to bounce back Monday night as they are at home for a four-game home stand as face the Utah Jazz at the Fiserv Forum.
