For the first time since Milwaukee Bucks former head coach Jason Kidd was fired on Monday, superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo opened up to the media on Wednesday.

After he spent three-and-a-half years under coach Kidd's guidance in Milwaukee, Antetokounmpo admitted that the front office's decision to fire Kidd caught him off guard and it makes him feel uncomfortable given his loyalty to his former head coach.

“It's kind of uncomfortable, especially for a guy like me that is — as I said, one of my characteristics is that I'm being loyal to the people around me,” Antetokounmpo said on Wednesday. “That's one of my characteristics, but it's kind of uncomfortable knowing before it happened.”

Antetokounmpo said that Kidd was the type of person who really pushed him very hard to go the extra mile towards being successful.

“He was a big part of my success,” Antetokounmpo said. “He trusted me, he put the ball in my hands, he motivated me on a daily basis, he pushed me to be great and not to be mediocre.

However, despite his personal opinion. Antetokounmpo fully trusts the Bucks' front office moving forward.

“Whatever move they think is the right move to make this team a championship level team, I think is the right move,” Antetokounmpo said.

Under 48-year-old interim head coach Joe Prunty, the Bucks won 109-105 over the Phoenix Suns at BMO Harris Bradley Center just hours after Kidd was officially fired by the organization. Up next, the Bucks (24-22) will host the Brooklyn Nets on Friday night in search of their second consecutive victory.
