Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo had an interesting reaction after learning that Malcom Brogdon was heading to the Indiana Pacers as part of a sign-and trade deal.

“Fu**. We gotta get somebody,” Antetokounmpo said, via Eric Nehm of The Athletic.

Antetokounmpo developed a relationship with Brogdon, but he knew there was a chance that his teammate wouldn't be returning to Milwaukee. Brogdon was a restricted free agent, which meant the Bucks could match any potential offer from other teams. In the end, he signed a four-year deal with the Pacers worth upwards of $85 million.

Giannis knew his team needed someone to replace the loss of Brogdon, but The Greek Freak admits that he doesn't like recruiting:

“I don’t like doing that stuff,” Antetokounmpo said. “I don’t get an extra paycheck for doing Jon’s job or Coach Bud’s job or whoever’s job it is. … If you asked me one year ago, two years ago, I’d say, ‘Coach, just take care of it.'”

As he came to grips with the fact that Brogdon would be joining the Pacers, Antetokounmpo became a bit more involved with the scouting process. It was at this time when Giannis realized he needed Wesley Matthews and Kyle Korver to help his team win.

“It comes to a point that I’m like, “OK. Malcolm’s about to leave,’ ” Antetokounmpo said. “And at the time, Wesley Matthews and Kyle Korver were the guys I felt like could help us win.”

Now with the Pacers, Brogdon is averaging 16.6 points on 44.0 percent shooting from the field (31.4 percent from beyond the arc), a career-high 7.3 assists and 4.8 rebounds. The Bucks, on the other hand, have played well without Malcolm's services, as their NBA-best 52-9 overall record suggests.
