The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jameis Winston seem to be at a bit of a crossroads although the quarterback is atop the team depth chart, at least for now. Winston is suspended for the first three games of the upcoming season because of a personal conduct violation that stemmed from an incident in 2016 involving an Uber driver.

Ryan Fitzpatrick will be the Bucs' starter for the first three games of the year, but after that, it appears that Winston will get his job done. Winston is a polarizing figure around the NFL, but with all that has happened this offseason, they are trying to help him keep a low profile. According to USA Today.

Yet, the team and his handlers also want the quarterback to maintain a low profile, restricting his media access. Aside from a training camp-opening press conference — during which Winston expressed disappointment in himself for his actions two years ago and tried to focus on the growth he has exhibited since that point, and reiterated his commitment to serving team and community — Winston has not spoken to reporters. The team has denied requests to speak to the quarterback, including those for this story. They hope this will allow the scrutiny of Winston to fade so he and his teammates can focus solely on football.

It's smart that the team is helping Winston keep a low profile because right now that is the most important thing to him and this team right now.

If he messes up one more time, his career is going to be in jeopardy, so the most important thing right now is to keep him on the straight and narrow.
