The Arizona Cardinals had good news and bad news to share ahead of their Week 15 matchup. Bad news first, wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins was officially put on the Cardinals' injured reserve. The good news: running back Chase Edmonds is expected to play on Sunday against the Detroit Lions. NFL insider Adam Schefter tweeted the news Saturday afternoon.

Edmonds hasn't been active since Week 9, when he got injured in the very beginning of the Cardinals' win over the 49ers. He suffered a high-ankle sprain, and has missed the last four games trying to recover from it.

In his absence, running back James Conner has taken a lot of reps the past few weeks. He is now questionable for the Sunday game against the Lions due to an ankle injury. Conner did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday, and he was limited on Friday.

Edmonds' game day status has been up in the air since Week 14. He was taken off of the injured reserve on Thursday of Week 13. There was a possibility he was going to suit up for Week 14, but he remained on the sidelines in the Cardinals' loss to the Rams.

Having Edmonds back is a huge boost for the Cardinals, as they look ahead at a postseason playoff run. The running back has run for 430 yards and a rushing touchdown in the nine games he played this season (including Week 9, when he left the field after one play).
