Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins hasn't ever been afraid to speak his mind, and it's no different when talking about the best wideouts in football.
On a recent episode of ESPN’s Jalen and Jacoby, Hopkins was talking about players like Julio Jones and Michael Thomas, some of the other best wide receivers in football.
DeAndre Hopkins made it clear though, if he had a stable quarterback situation like Thomas and Jones had, he has no doubt he would have even better numbers:
“I played against both of those guys last year,” DeAndre Hopkins said. “We beat the Falcons. Obviously, we lost to the Saints on a last-second field goal toward the end of regulation. I definitely think I’m the best. I know I’m the best. I know Mike is my boy. We were texting yesterday, but he knows if I had Drew Brees my whole career what these numbers would be. Julio Jones if I had Matt Ryan my whole career … he knows what these numbers would be. Those guys are definitely blessed to be in a position where their whole career they had a Pro Bowl quarterback — a quarterback that they had multiple seasons with. But I don’t complain. I don’t make excuses. I go out and work.”
DeAndre Hopkins still found a lot of success with the Houston Texans as they won the division five of the seven seasons in the league.
With the Cardinals, Kyler Murray is the quarterback of the future and there really isn't any doubt about that. Adding Hopkins to the mix also gives Arizona a more intriguing dynamic on offense, especially with Kliff Kingsbury's air raid style of play.
As long as they can both stay healthy, maybe Murray and Hopkins can be quite the combo for years to come and help the Cardinals become an NFC contender.
