Both the Arizona Cardinals and Tampa Bay Buccaneers have generated plenty of hype with their offseason moves. As a result, it seems expectations are now higher than ever under center for Kyler Murray, measured against Tom Brady.

According to Caesars Sportsbook, Kyler Murray currently shares the same odds as Brady to win MVP, via ESPN's Jamison Hensley:

Patrick Mahomes 4-1
Lamar Jackson 13-2
Dak Prescott 9-1
Russell Wilson 12-1
Tom Brady 16-1
Kyler Murray 16-1
Drew Brees 20-1

Brady finds himself in familiar territory among the favorites to take home the league's highest individual honor. Of course, the fact that he shares the same odds as the upstart Kyler Murray is certainly telling of what is expected from the latter in the 2020 NFL season.

The Cardinals have fully embraced the prospect of Kyler Murray making a similar jump as Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson. Both Mahomes and Jackson were able to follow up strong rookie seasons by putting together MVP campaigns in just their second year. Perhaps this trend has played a factor in helping boost Murray's stock as the next player to accomplish this feat.

Arizona has made efforts to revamp the supporting cast on offense by acquiring four-time All-Pro DeAndre Hopkins. They also added another potential starter at right tackle to help Kyler Murray: In the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, they took Josh Jones.

Regardless, it remains to be seen if this will be enough to justify Kyler Murray being as safe a bet as Brady to take home the award. After all, the Bucs also made efforts to ensure that the veteran will have no shortage of firepower on offense to work with.
