The Los Angeles Rams were beaten down last night by a score of 28-0 at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers. Case Keenum, the starting quarterback for the Rams, had a horrific night and really struggled to throw the ball all night. On a few occasions, Keenum missed his target by a wide margin.
For a city that is just getting a football team back, this is not a good sign. Many Rams fans are upset by their team's performance and are pushing for Keenum to be replaced by their young 1st overall pick, Jared Goff.
Head coach Jeff Fisher isn't ready to move Goff into the starting quarterback position just yet. When he was asked if it's true that Keenum would remain as the starting quarterback, he had this to say.
From NFL.com:
“That is correct. I'll adjust, but I expect it to continue.”
Goff does indeed need time to adjust to the level of talent that the NFL contains, as well as the playbook, but Rams fans will not be too patient.
When the Rams play in Los Angeles for the first time next week, their fans and owner Stan Kroenke expect a much better showing from their team.
If Case Keenum doesn't improve, the fans will be imploring the organization to give Goff a chance.
