Marcus Morris reacts to being selected to swap jerseys with Dwyane Wade

Dwyane Wade is in his last season in the NBA, and the superstar is exchanging jerseys with one player from every team. On Monday night, Boston Celtics forward Marcus Morris was selected to swap jerseys with the Miami Heat star.

Morris has started on and off this season for the Celtics. He has played in 42 games and started in 25 of them. When he’s not starting, he’s a vital part of the rotation for head coach Brad Stevens. So far, Morris is averaging 14.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game while shooting 48.1 percent from the field and 43.5 from beyond the arc.

Morris can play either the three or the four, and he’s a bit of a tweener. However, his consistent three-point shot and a strong body allow him to be a small-ball four.

The Celtics struggled early on in the season. Their offense never seemed to click, and even going into the month of January they couldn’t find a flow. Kyrie Irving was publicly upset with his teammates for their lack of playing within Steven’s offensive system. Oftentimes, Terry Rozier and Jaylen Brown will freelance and isolate, forcing bad shots and collapsing the team’s offense.

Fortunately, the team has seemed to found its stride. They’ve won seven out of their last 10 games and Irving has realized what it truly means to be a leader. The Celtics are now 28-14 on the season and sit in the fifth spot of the NBA’s Eastern Conference. They will face off next against the Cleveland Cavaliers at home.
