It goes without saying that the Los Angeles Chargers have had a tough time garnering support in their new home. Unfortunately, it seems the same can now be said for those on their own team.

After initially deciding to place a restricted free agent tender on defensive end Chris McCain, the Chargers have now rescinded their offer. They subsequently announced the signing of quarterback Geno Smith.

Needless to say, wide receiver Keenan Allen was not happy and even expressed his frustrations with a post on Twitter that has since been deleted, via TheBigLead.com:

“I just don’t understand sometimes!” Allen said. “But we sign people like… nvm.”

It is easy to see why Allen was frustrated by the team's recent offseason moves. He and McCain have been teammates through high school and college before linking up with the Chargers prior to the 2017 NFL season.

The former Cal product enjoyed a bit of a breakout year after registering 20 tackles, 5.0 sacks, and two forced fumbles. Furthermore, he was set to cost the team just under $2 million for the 2018 NFL season which is a bargain when it comes to a quality pass-rusher.

It seems Allen has also taken issue with the fact that the Chargers brought in quarterback Geno Smith as a backup for Phillip Rivers. That said, it is clear that he does not share the same enthusiasm as the New York Giants did last season when they decided to give him the starting nod.

The former first-round pick has had his fair share of time to develop, however, there has been little improvement in his play over the past couple of seasons. Perhaps the more pressing concern here is that they now appear to have a disgruntled star to deal with this offseason.
