The Los Angeles Chargers looked pretty good in 2021. They were above .500 and finished the regular season at 9-8. However, they failed to earn a spot in the postseason tournament.

This offseason, the Chargers are looking to improve their promising roster in multiple ways. They acquired Khalil Mack in a trade with the Chicago Bears in March and used their first-round pick on offensive guard Zion Johnson.

Now, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Chargers are turning their attention to Kyle Van Noy. Rapoport tweeted the news Thursday morning.

Van Noy would be a great addition to the Chargers, a team that's spent a lot of time focusing on strengthening it's defense ahead of the 2022-2023 season.

Not only is he a talented linebacker, but Van Noy brings a lot of intangibles to a team. At 31-years-old, the veteran has eight seasons under his belt and a ton of experience. Van Noy has been on four different teams including his second stint with the New England Patriots. He's played in 12 playoff games and won two Super Bowl championships. All of this experience gives Van Noy a great sense of leadership that would greatly benefit the Chargers' defense.

The linebacker himself tweeted a cryptic emoji message Thursday morning, possibly alluding to his potential signing with Los Angeles.

With Khalil Mack and the possibility of Van Noy, the Chargers' defense is going to look a lot different than it did last season. Not to mention, Los Angeles also picked up defensive tackle Otito Ogbonnia in the 2022 NFL Draft to deepen the team's interior line.
