While covering the NFC Wild Card matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and Philadelphia Eagles, Cris Collinsworth made an interesting comment. He expressed his belief that Tom Brady may actually end up playing for the Los Angeles Chargers next season.

Looking at how Brady has performed with the Patriots against the Titans, it's easy to see why such an industry veteran believes that he would depart the only team he's ever known. In fact, the reason seemed like he was just ineffective this season.

Brady managed to be somewhat effective against the Titans, throwing for 209 yards. However, he was unable to throw touchdown passes when it actually mattered. This ineffectiveness showed itself throughout the season. His performance raised questions if he even wanted to stay in New England after this season.

Moreover, Brady's recent statement about his future leaves open a lot of potential options, including the possibility of departing in free agency.

“I love the Patriots. It's the greatest organization,” Brady told reporters, via Bleacher Report. “Playing for Mr. [Robert] Kraft all these years, and for coach Belichick, there's nobody who's had a better career, I would say, than me—just being with them. So I'm very blessed. I don't know what the future looks like, so I'm not going to predict it.”

There are plenty of factors in play from both the Patriots' perspective as well as Tom Brady's that leave the future currently unknown. It's possible that both sides end up deciding that they should stick together at least for one more season, but signing elsewhere in the offseason is another, too.
