Ariel Gold, the five-year-old girl who was recently involved in a multi-vehicle car crash with former Kansas City Chiefs linebackers coach Britt Reid already woke up from a comatose late Monday night. The news was announced on their official GoFundMe page managed by her aunt, Tiffany Verhulst, per New York Post.

The accident happened four days prior to Super Bowl LV near the Chiefs practice facility in Missouri at around 9 p.m. Gold was in a Chevrolet Traverse together with her mother when they collided with Reid's Dodge Ram truck on Feb. 4.

According to reports, Reid had consumed alcohol along with a prescription for Adderall when he made the trip, thus resulting in the crash. Since then, the 35-year-old tactician was placed on leave by the Chiefs which caused him to miss their championship game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

His contract has already expired and will most likely not be renewed moving forward. On the other hand, despite being in a comatose, Gold managed to sustain non-life-threatening injuries from the accident.

Britt Reid is the son of Chiefs head coach Andy Reid who came together with his father to Kansas City back in the 2013 season where he started out as a defensive quality coach for two years. He is concluding his eight-year tenure after serving as the assistant defensive line coach, defensive line coach, and linebackers coach for the Chiefs.

He also incurred drug charges and was involved in a road rage incident back in 2007.
